Life Insurance

Proceeds from a life policy are exempt if the policy or supplemental agreement provides that the proceeds and income from the policy are not assignable.  To see this statute, please click here.

If the policy was created to benefit a spouse, child, or dependent relative of the insured the proceeds are exempt unless the judgment creditor is that spouse, child, or dependent relative of the insured.  To see this statute, please click here.

Annuities

Annuities are exempt if the solvent insured is the beneficiary; this exemption may not exceed $100 per month.  To see this statute, please click here.
